At 321dive it has taken years to assemble a team that knows not only the dive trip resorts but also, just as importantly, how a teacher goes about leading trips in schools.
All of our staff are ex-teachers. We only recruit those that have had direct experience in leading school dive trips as trip leaders for the state, academy or private sectors.
We therefore believe we can talk to our client schools with real authority and advise based upon our own experiences - and not a profit margin sheet!
We are the only tour operator in the UK to be able to say so.
1. Our Director
Our Director, Toby Weeden, completed his PGCE in Suffolk before successfully graduating from his first post as a NQT in a state school in Yorkshire. Head of Department followed at a private boarding school (when he got his first opportunity to lead a dive trip), as well as the all-encompassing post of being a Housemaster and Head of Boys Boarding.
Subsequently Mr Weeden held the post of Director of Sport at a state school in Buckinghamshire. To date Mr Weeden has led dive trips, dive trips, sports tours and Outward Bound camps.
Previous to being a teacher Mr Weeden served as a Royal Air Force Officer in the Royal Air Force Regiment.
At home, and apart from diving, he's a keen horseman, diveier and husband!
2. UK Staff
Our UK Staff come from a range of backgrounds and strangely consist nearly entirely of Geography teachers (unintentionally!)...
All of our staff are graduates in leading school dive trips for different schools and their wealth of experience and teaching legacy benefit 321dive and all of our customers.
3. In Resort Staff
Fundamentally we only work with partners that are thoroughly established and possess the highest of diving qualifications. The school industry is unique in demanding the highest of standards of instruction and safety, and we are confident that at all times our partners offer excellent supervision and professionalism.
Our partners are currently the same as many years ago when 321dive was founded, and we'd like to think that's because of our mutual respect of quality and high standards.
321dive holds the highest level of protection and awards that recognise our professionalism and reliability. We are the only UK school dive trip specialist and we are also the only company that holds ABTA protection.
Formed in 1950, ABTA – The Travel Association – ensures travel companies offer choice, value and high levels of service. 321dive is a Member of ABTA with membership number Y5223. ABTA and ABTA Members help holidaymakers and schools to get the most from their travel and assist them when things do not go according to plan. We are obliged to maintain a high standard of service to you by ABTA’s Code of Conduct.
ATOL bonding gives you peace of mind and full financial protection. ATOL is a scheme for air holidays and flights managed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that protects you from losing money or being stranded abroad if the tour operator goes out of business. The CAA can give refunds to people who can’t travel and arrange for people abroad to fly home. 321dive's ATOL is 10431.
