Safety

Safety is at the core of everything we do. And this is why we are known to Local Education Authorities for delivering safe, quality rich experiences.

We use only 5* PADI Palm Resorts (the highest qualification for PADI centres) and whilst some of the venues have individual awards recognising their attention to detail and absolute professional delivery, all of our venues know how important it is to get it right every time..

Our Reputation

We are the only School Dive Trip specialist that exclusively caters for schools, and when compared to other competitors, we are the only ABTA registered tour operator (ABTA Y5223).

We are the founding pioneering company in delivering school dive trips, and by far the most experienced.

And we have also 'been there, done that' as teachers so you can profit from the materials and documents used to minimise your administration burden.

We know that you are busy professionals. And we are very grateful that you are generous enough to take time out to deliver some enrichment through a dive trip (fortunately most teachers say it's the best trip they've ever been on, and to date all teachers have returned the next year!).

The Launch

At the declared date of an assembly launch 321dive will provide you with an online portal to download the following documents and materials:

  1. Assembly DVD presentation
  2. Letter templates
  3. Risk Assessments for your EVC, Headteacher, Governors, LEA Outdoor Education and Trips Advisor
  4. All literature and materials required to complete the PADI course
  5. Your trip details - timings, destination and various other 'extras'
  6. A completely free place to dive or sunbathe for a week!

These trip planning documents have been revised and evolved over the years to be acceptable to both state and independent schools, at primary and secondary level.

Risk Assessments

You can be sure that the resorts have been risk assessed by an equivalent of a colleague and they have been deemed particularly suitable for schools. These editable documents are then made available to you.

This encompasses not only the normal accommodation and travel aspects of the trip, but also all parts of the diving and the quality of instruction and equipment.

We are members of ABTA (ABTA Y5223). You can be sure that when you book with 321dive all of your arrangements will be in the best possible hands. Insist only on ABTA registered companies to deliver school trips! In my experience as EVC I have found often there is a reason why companies are not ABTA registered, despite having ATOL...

Financial Protection

Your financial protection is fully protected under ATOL 10431 and ABTA Y5223.

With the recent insolvencies of some of the bigger airlines and travel consortiums 321dive believes it is crucial to always insist on total financial protection for all flights and ABTA association.

The trips are 100 per cent financially protected and, if you're a state school, we are known in most counties with the LEAs.

This means that our reputation greases the wheels with those that need to give the necessary approvals, avoiding any headaches. At the same time 321dive is passionate about putting safety first and continually assessing and improving safety management systems.

Reviews of 321dive can be found elsewhere on the internet, including on TripAdvisor. Your payments will be covered by ATOL 10431 so in the extremely unlikely situation that one of the holiday's supplier's components become insolvent your money will be protected.

Risk

To date the only injury or illness 321dive has had on the dive trips has been dehydration.

This resulted in the pupil being kept behind for one day in the hotel, for which there is always provision, before re-joining the course with a remedial instructor.

He qualified two days later. However, scuba diving does of course carry risk. Put into context, the average school dive trip will always prove more dangerous with considerable higher incidents of injury.

All of the staff in resorts take great care to preach the need to drink water at all times, and of course the low ratios of instructor to pupil (1:4 to 1:6 considerably lower than recommended PADI ratios), as well as the professionalism of the instructors, ensures complete supervision of the pupils at all times whilst diving.

Any pupil feeling uncomfortable or not keeping up with the groups will be delegated to a remedial instructor; success at the individuals rate is one of 321dives aims.

Communication

321dive will attend parents' presentations and, either way, will be in constant dialogue with the teachers leading the trip.

...and finally...

We only use the transport, staff, accommodation and venues that we'd be happy with for our own children.
